Radiate Positivity

My husband and I’s motto during all of this is to radiate positivity. Why? Because a positive attitude has been one amazing way that has helped us get through this. Obviously some days are rough, and on those days it is OK to throw yourself a little pity party. But being positive really brings out the blessings. I have started a tender mercy journal or a count my blessings journal. Each day I write how I saw the Lord’s hand in my life. As I have done this I have been given strength beyond my own. I have felt uplifted and strengthened.

So how exactly can we be positive? Like I said some days are really trying for me. Some days I feel so crummy that it is hard to be smiling and happy. But come on there is ALWAYS something you can smile about! Here is a list of things that helps me to be positive and find happiness:

  • Tender mercy journal as I mentioned earlier- it’s simple, grab any notebook/journal you have and let the blessings begin!

  • Meditate- I have found when I just sit, close my eyes and breathe that I feel relaxed and feel peace. One way I have done this is sitting in the tub or doing some yoga

  • Reading scriptures- reading the word of God brings joy and peace in my life

  • Going on a walk- get some fresh air!

  • Look at nature- we like to go on drives and look at the beauty all around us

  • Exercise- do what you can, some days I can only do a few sit ups and my body is done. But I always feel better when I get whatever I can done

  • Make a treat- I’ll be honest some days all I want is chocolate or a sweet treat. There is nothing wrong with indulging yourself in a treat- all in moderation. There are plenty of treats that you can find or make that are healthier. (Check out the helpful hints tabs to find a few of these healthy alternatives)

  • Watch a movie- some days I just feel like snuggling up in a minky blanket (these are the best blankets- a family favorite) and watching a movie, also resting really does rejuvenate the body and give it the energy it needs

  • Call a family member or friend- talking or being with others has brought a lot of strength. People have been so kind and helpful to us, we love them all!

We hope some of these are helpful for you! They have really helped us and made days brighter. There is always sunshine, even on the rainiest of days.

Talk with you all soon,

Maddie & Landon
