There has been a lot that has happened since March. It had been a rollercoaster ride! Overall, I am doing well, I have my bad days but the good days are starting to take the lead. We are so grateful. Since March I have been making it a priority to focus on exercise and diet. I have been doing simply fit board workouts almost every day, and that has been such a huge strength to me! It doesn’t kill my joints, and it makes me feel good. Exercise has truly been a blessing. I have also been using an app called Headspace. It is my favorite. It aims at helping relieve stress.
In April we got an MRI of my brain. Landon and I have been feeling recently that we should get one done. They found a pretty large mass/lesion deep in my brain. They aren’t sure what it is exactly. We did further testing, which included getting another lumbar puncture. It took a lot of strength for me to be able to do that test again. It definitely isn’t the most fun test in the whole world and it is very painful. I cried almost every day leading up to it ha-ha I know pathetic, right?! I was really nervous for it again because I knew how painful it was. Anyways, we got it done and they ran a lot of tests on my spinal fluid. They all came back clear and didn’t show any type of infections or diseases, which is a huge blessing. We were so relieved. They also tested for Lyme in my brain, and that was negative, so we are so grateful it hasn’t spread into my brain. What a blessing! We get a follow-up MRI scan here in the next week or so to see if the mass is growing at all and to see if more testing needs to get done.
We saw Dr J. yesterday for an update on my levels. Previously they were at 67, and since March I have been off all antibiotics, which has been amazing. My CD57 levels are now currently at 84. Overall, we made a good little improvement! My body is slowly starting to fight by itself, without the antibiotics, so that is a great sign. We are praying that my body continues to gain strength.
My other levels were pretty good as well. We are working on getting my thyroid working better as it has been sluggish lately. Dr J also wants to do another round of parasite medications. He isn’t convinced that the parasites are all gone. Last time I did a round of parasite medications I had a parasite come out of my eyeball! Ha ha cool right? ;) It also made me so sick. This time we don’t think it will be as bad. We are going to be using an natural/herb supplement to target them this time instead of a prescription.
We are super blessed. This journey is long, but we are so blessed. I feel like my strength in all aspects has grown so much. We find joy each day, and are loving this path we are on. No matter what path we are on or thrown onto, we can choose joy each day.
Talk to you soon! If you have any questions, comments, or need anything please don’t hesitate to email or message us. Love, Maddie & Lanon
